EOI AND SKILL SELECT OPERATIONAL

The new Expression of Interest and Skill Select process for GSM applicants to Australia is now live. Details on the visa subclass numbers (189) Skilled Independent / (190) Skilled Nominated / (489) Skilled Regional are also available. All applicants must now lodge an EOI and then be invited to apply for residency or provisional residency (489). It remains to be seen what impact these latest reforms to Australia's main migration visa streams actually have and also if the new online system runs relatively smoothly. DIAC have indicated that the claims made during the EOI stage must be accurate. If an invitation is issued as a result of claims made in an EOI and a case officer concludes those claims (for points) are not correct then they may reject an application (even if the applicant still meets the pass mark with the reduction in awarded points). Bearing in mind that the visa application charge is AUD3,060 and that no refunds will be given in these instances, the importance of making an accurate application is now obvious to all would be skilled migrants. WIth increased numbers of visa applicants, the new skill select system, ranking and occupational ceilings it is now vital to lodge accurate claims and to research these claims before submission. Destination Oz ltd offers a full and thorough free eligibility assessment for intending migrants to Australia in these and other visa subclasses.
